A dramatic play-off decided with 2023 Men’s Club Champion with Ollie Carder holding his nerve to secure the title.

Last weekend saw a fantastic turn out for the 2023 Club Championships and Directors Trophy. Played over 36 holes and over 2 days, the competition saw some fabulous golf played with the winner of the Club Championship eventually decided by a 4 hole play-off followed by a fifth hole sudden death decider.

Derek Brown and Ollie Carder were tied on a gross score of 150 after regulation play and were all square after the four hole play off. There was little to separate the two of them until the sudden death fifth play off hole on the 1st when Ollie secured the win. Ollie was delighted with his success and hugely relieved to have managed to deal with the high-pressure situation, “I felt the nerves a bit with everyone watching but managed to keep them together just!”.

The Directors Trophy (handicap competition), also played over 36 holes, was won by David Weston on a total score of 138. This was decided on count back from Derek Brown, who was so close yet again.

As winners of the Club Championships and Directors Trophy, Ollie and David secure committee sponsors places in the 2024 Badgemore Park Pro-Am.

Congratulations to all those who played in the competition and to the winners!
