Our very own, Martin Woodbridge, wins BB&O Pros Championships for the 3rd time

On Monday 10th August, Badgemore Park hosted and welcomed 35 Professionals from the local circuit, and Martin carded a one under par 68 to finish tied at the top of the leaderboard with fellow Professional Ben Whittall from Gerrards Cross.

After all the cards were signed, both players headed back to the 1st Tee at 7:45pm to commence the sudden death play-off. As daylight started to fade, both Martin and Ben holed good par saving putts at the 1st to keep the play-off alive and set up a tense walk to the 2nd tee.

After a poor tee shot from the 2nd tee, Martin was left with 259 yards to the pin, with his opponent down by the 150 post. Needing to pull something off, he pulled his 3 Wood from the bag and stuck his approach to within 8 feet. Ben followed this with a fine approach to about 20 feet.

After burning the edge of the hole, Ben tapped in for birdie. A putt for the tournament was lined up and Martin rolled in his 8 footer for an Eagle to clinch the title.
