Calum Miller Secures Club Championship Hat-Trick as Junior Member, Leo Wilson, Claims Directors’ Trophy
Badgemore Park’s Men’s Club Championships delivered another excellent weekend of competitive golf, with 55 players taking part across the two-day event.
The course was presented in superb condition throughout the weekend, with many positive comments from competitors on the quality of the playing surfaces and overall presentation. Great credit must go to Course Manager Sean Harvey and his greenkeeping team for their hard work in preparing the course for one of the most important fixtures in the club calendar.
In the gross competition, Calum Miller produced another outstanding performance to be crowned Men’s Club Champion for the third year in a row. Playing off a handicap of +1.2, Calum opened with a composed round of 71 before following it up with a second-round 76, giving him a winning score of 147.
Ollie Carder finished in second place with rounds of 77 and 74 for a total of 151, while Paul Siffre claimed third place after rounds of 73 and 80, finishing on 153.
Calum was visibly delighted to have secured the hat-trick and, after his win, thanked his playing partners and the greenkeeping team for their efforts in preparing the course. Winning any Club Championship is a significant achievement, but to do so three years in a row is a fantastic accomplishment and one that reflects Calum’s consistency and quality over recent seasons.
There was also a standout performance in the nett competition, with junior member Leo Wilson, aged just 13, winning the Directors’ Trophy. Leo produced a remarkable first-day score of nett 59, before following it up with a very steady nett 70 on day two. His two-round total of 129 saw him win the trophy by six shots.
It was a brilliant achievement from Leo and a proud moment for the club’s junior section. To perform so well across two days in a major club competition is hugely impressive, particularly at such a young age.
Congratulations go to Calum, Leo and all those who competed across the weekend. With a strong field, excellent course presentation and some superb scoring, this year’s Men’s Club Championships proved to be another highly successful event at Badgemore Park.
