Calum Miller Retains Club Championship Title in Testing Conditions
Despite some early cloud cover, the sun blazed relentlessly over Badgemore Park Golf Club this past weekend as the Men’s Club Championships unfolded in sweltering conditions. Undeterred by the heat, defending champion Calum Miller delivered a solid performance to secure back-to-back titles, winning the 2025 Men’s Club Championship by a five-shot margin.
Calum carded a two-day total of 151, improving on a first-round 78 with a composed 73 on Sunday. Heading into the competition as one of the favourites, his steady play amid gruelling temperatures ensured that the coveted trophy, presented to him by Men’s Captain, Mark Stevens, remained in his hands for another year.
Thanking his playing partners and the club’s greenkeeping team for their hard work in producing a golf course in excellent condition despite some challenging weather conditions to contend with, Calum was visibly delighted to secure his third Club Championship having first won it back in 2017.
Former champion Ollie Carder, who claimed victory in 2023, finished runner-up after posting rounds of 81 and 75. Despite a valiant second-round effort, Carder had to settle for second place and collected the Gus Drake Trophy.
In the Director’s Trophy—the net competition contested alongside the Club Championship—Kevin Fitzgerald produced a dominant display, firing superb net rounds of 68 and 64. His impressive rounds secured a five-shot victory.
Huge congratulations to Calum, Ollie & Kevin!
